When it rains, it pours- 3 breaks @ the nailbed!

China Glaze, My Secret Peri-Wink-Le was going to be the base of my next nail art mani, but...

1 week into my last fill - Bam! 3 nails gone- just like that! It's a rarity that I break one nail, but 3? Never!
A couple of months ago, my nail tech, My, did a substantial fill (I was 1 week late for it) that she wasn't happy with. I believe it was the acetone, because she kept bringing it to her nose and smelling it. She told me that if I had any problems with grittiness or cracking, to come in right away, and she would fix it.  The next fill after that, she ground away the previous fill with the alleged bad acetone.
I figured all was well, until these 3 breaks.
I am not happy. In fact, I am madder than a hornet.
These breaks are the last straw, and I'll tell you why.
For the last 3 months, I have been charged different prices for my fills- each going up 2 more dollars. $6 increase in 3 months? come on! I have been an excellent customer. I tip very, very well...$20 tip for a $16 fill is a crazy good tip!
I was also charged "extra" when My removed that bad fill, when I think there should *not* have been a charge at all.
And now these 3 breaks.
Today, I am going to try another salon. I'm also going to be less generous with my tips.

That is preposterous. You should not be charged extra for their mistakes.
I hope the new salon has better customer service.

WOW! That's outrageous! If they didn't do a good job, they should do it again for free. Or give you your money back. I'm sure they'll ''miss'' your tips and think better next time.

BTW: Secret Periwinkle looks gorgeous on you. I just saw it on The Kronicles of a Konad-er...and I think after seeing your pics...I must get this one. :)

I'm sorry you went through such an ordeal! It sounds like the salon you went to may have switched to cheaper components. I hope you find a new salon that feels like home to you.

Secret Periwinkle is indeed lovely.

OH you poor thing!

They would have heard about that from me! You are far too sweet!

Hope the next salon not only does a better job but treats you better too!

Wow, that sounds terrible! I probably would have stormed in there and chewed them out. I hope that the next salon is much better for you!

You should have left them 2 extra charges ago. Being an excellent tipper should have not given you such bad service. I think you definitely should try somewhere else. 15% tip is good. If the service is excellent than you can tip more. So sorry you lost 3 nails.

Wow, totally lame. I hate when places take advantage of their regular customers. Let us know how the new salon pans out - sometimes change is a good thing!

Oh, and would you recommend acrylics or "fake nails" for someone who likes changing their polish every few days?

~Shayla- thank you for commenting. As for your question...
I wear acrylics for 2 reasons...
1. I have the horrendous habit of picking at the sides of my cuticles until they're beyond bloody. Not a good thing.
2. The nails of my right hand are deformed from a crush injury that happened many years ago.
~I feel the above 2 reasons make acrylics a necessity for me. (If I did not have these problems, I would still wear acrylics for cosmetic and aesthetic reasons. I hate my flat nail-beds and the way my nails grow out- flat and splayed out.)

There are pros and cons to having acrylics.
* Polish lasts waaaaay longer. I can go 2 weeks with just a bit of tip-wear.
* Polish is waaaay harder to remove. And glitter nail polish- you need a jackhammer to get it off. Most salons grind it off.
* Bi-weekly "fills" are needed. That's approx $20 every 2 weeks.
* You can have the shape and length of nails you always dreamed of having.

ohhhh.. i have 3 broken nails too.. it was broken 2 weeks ago so u might notice that my 3 nails are look weird.. i just glue them & i put 2 thick coats of base coat whenever i put base polish...its my first time to glued my nail for them to maintain long or as a repair..coz honestly everytime i have broken nails.. i cut my nails short & i dont put any nail polish...im thinking on how will irepair my nails.. im thinking if i would try about silk wrap or acrylic...but the thing is it might too expensive to maintain just 3 nails with acrylic or silk wrap..lol

i just hope u'll find a better salon that will treat u right & will meet ur satisfaction...they should not take advantage on their costumers perhaps they should treat u like a queen...*wink*
