Nfu-Oh 64 Holo tips

Sorry about the sloppy application and equally sloppy photos. No time for clean-up. This mani is temporary. I'll be removing it tonight after work.
Yesterday, I visited yet another salon for my fill. It's actually a Day Spa and is located a block away from my house. Ironically, the girl assigned to my fill looked  un-kept and did not seem like an employee at a Day Spa.. I thought she could do with some of the Spa's services herself. So as I sat in the chair feeling skeptical, I figured that if she did not stink, I'll stay for the fill.

Angel turned out to be quite pleasant-and no, she didn't stink. Aside from some cuticle blending- she did my whole fill by hand with a curved emery board. In all the years of acrylics- no one has done that-I've always been dremeled. She listened and followed through with what I wanted, and did a fantastic job. The only thing I did not like was her paint job- but that's small potatoes and I'm not sweating it.

I brought in my own color OPI Pamplona Purple, and she applied 2 coats. As my usual I asked for no topcoat. I loved their IBD nail dryers, 8 minutes and I was out the door dry.
If my fill doesn't lift, I'll be going back to Angel.
Mani details;
3 coats OPI Pamplona Purple
1 coat CND Effects Crimson Sparkle
1 coat Seche
Stencil for masking

un-named olive OPI

This afternoon, I took off to my local Dollar Tree with the dream of a super fabulous haul. A lot of MUA NBers were finding such great polishes at Dollar Trees! I should have been happy with the haul I made several days ago at a Family Dollar close to me...I hauled tons of SH Fire Opals in addition to some of the Salon Lacquers, Diamond Shines, OS Extreme Wears w/the flared caps and No Chips. I had just been to the Dollar Tree on the other side of town a week ago, only to find some little girl press-ons and some waxy looking emery boards. I went anyway, and a week later- nothing changed- pure garbage. My DT sucks.
Since I was on that side of town anyway, I decided to hit every dollar store in the area. Still nothing good.

I popped into the beauty store(same side of town) where I found that Fresh Cover Polish I used in my crane mani to pick-up another color. The removal of that polish was bizarre to say the least. It was almost instantaneous! Instead of bleeding all over the cotton rounds I use for removal, the polish stayed dead center no matter where I rubbed. It left a dime size spot of polish on every round I used. This is a real plus in my book, so I bought another color- an orange called Sunbath.

I was in the mood for a haul, and I had but one polish in my bag. I entertained the idea of going 30 miles out of town to a Dollar Tree that's located in a town more affluent than mine. But...I told my husband Jim that I would be back "shortly". It wouldn't be "right" for me to spend time running after nail polish dream hauls when I'm supposed to be spending time with him. We're both on vacation.
Then I remembered that there was another beauty store, Sun Discount, just up the road, downtown, on the major drag, where everyone shopped once upon a time before the Mall came to town.

As luck would have it, I found a parking spot right in front of Sun- a good sign! The first thing I saw upon entering was a brand spanking new display of Ruby Kisses Polishes. I have several, and I think that they're fairly decent for $1 polishes. I also found a brand new display of NK polishes. Never heard of them, but at $1 each, who cares? If they're bad, I can always use them in frankens.
I found 3 bins of dusties that I rooted through and found some Toma Chromes, 1 Nubar Moodie, and another polish from Dada- heard but not tried. On my way to cash out, I found a skimpy OPI display, where I found and purchased an un-named olive polish with asian type writing on the back. I also saw one tagged  Tulsa Tootsie Roll-a, and Ti-tan Your Toga that I passed on. I'm pretty sure Tootsie is mis-marked, because its a medium taupish color with either a scarlet or violet flash. I may just go back for that one.

Above OPI 2 coats- photographed as the sun was setting. 2 hours later- it's *still* slightly tacky to touch and I can ding it with my nail.
Does anyone have a clue as to what this one's called?

Yoga-ta Get This Blue magic- click 4 big

My first attempt at art on my OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue! was a major fail. I tried to salvage it by layering almost *all* the glitter and flakies in my arsenal. At one point, I could have sworn I heard someone chanting..."more, more, more is better". I'm not sure, but I think it was the ONE voice of the Glitteratzi. So, it was looking very cool- and then I did it again- I went overboard with yet another layer. Thankfully, it was all still wet so removal was not a pain.
Anyway, I started all over with a fresh 2 coats of Yoga-ta. Although I have lots of Halloween ideas, none of them seemed right with this color...it's too classy for cheesey Halloweeney art. (I had no inclination of trying my first idea again, as I really need a different shade and formula of orange(s) than I have.)
I came up with a magic inspired fauxnadacure. Magic and Halloween go together, so I say this counts as #5 in my series.

Basecoat- OPI Yoga-ta Get This Blue, 2 coats
Overlay- Hard Candy Hot Pants (holo glitter- micro and medium)
Fauxnad plates- P55, H16, H17
Sally Hansen Chromes for stamping in- Royal Purple Chrome & Aqua Chrome
2 coats Seche
Too bad my dh wasn't home to photograph my nails...I had to use my ancient Fuji- not very good for glitter, holo & detail shots.

No art yet...fell in love with Yoga-ta Get This Blue!

I have walked by this OPI color for months. It's been in my shopping basket several times, only to be put back on the shelf- (I must say that in order to prove to myself that I have a smidge of discipline in regards to spending money- I
always put a bottle back).
This is such an interesting blue. While I was uploading my pics, I did a search on it to read who blogged about it and what they had to say. Most said this was navy blue. My bottle and nails read differently.
Under low light it *does* look navy, however, put some light on it and a very dark turquoise shimmer appears...and there is purple around the edges.
My camera, of course, does not pick this up, but it's there, and is it ever gorgeous! I could wear this color all by itself- without art or layering of any kind, which is a rarity in my world.

Up until this very moment, I have been stumped on what I was going to do art-wise, so as to not cover or detract(is this a word?) from how pretty this blue really is.
If I don't mess this one up, I'll have pictures tomorrow.

OPI, Essie, Color Club, China Glaze haul

So, I went out iso some Halloween collections, 'cause I'm all about Halloween you
know.
I didn't spot a single one, but walked away happy with all this;
From top left- CG Beauty and the Beach & Tantalize Me. OPI INK, Significant Other Color, & Shootout at the OK Coral.
From bottom left- CC Where's the Soirre?, Ultra Violet, Volt of Light, Explosive, (mini)Fantasy. Essie Aruba Blue & Silver Bullions.

My favorite of this bunch has to be Volt of Light. I have an outfit that I designed and sewed that this would look fantastic with!
