I'm back- the most terrible migraine I've ever had in my life is gone, and you'll never believe the odd way I got rid of it! Having felt a measure of relief from drinking 2 beers with my cooks Sunday night, I went home and bravely drank 4-6 shots of Tequila. Much to my surprise, the migraine vanished! Alcohol usually produces headaches, not cure them.
Moving on...When it came to having enough time to work on the cool thing I had planned for the MPJ mani, I was already bored with the color. The best cure for that- is a new mani.
And this Barbie mani....Well, all I can say is that I must have been possessed when I did it, because *nothing* about it is "me". All I really remember about this is that I was disappointed with the sticky, gloopy, streaky formula of Diamond Cosmetics Cotton Candy. Everything after that is a blur.
What was left on my mani desk;

A tip for your next migrane (I hope never comes) My Mother suffered from debilitating migranes and what helped her more than anything was grapefruit. She would drink Pink grapefruit juice when she felt one comming on.
I found out from a doctor that some migrains are caused by bloodvessels constricting at the base of the skull. So anything that causes blood vessels to dialate will ease it, Grapefruit, alcohol and some blood thinners. Hope this helps!

That grapefruit trick works. I get migraines too and I drink grapefruit juice everyday and they havent nearly been as bad or frequent.

I received that song many years ago on a cassette tape from Denyse, the only person I consider a friend. Although not a friend in the traditional sense- (we many not talk for months at a time, don't gift birthdays or holidays) we are tuned into eachother, and know when the other is in need of a good talk.
I *do* have the "sad"...nothing as profound as the song...but it's there, and long ago, Denyse could feel it and made me a cassette that included Cat Stevens, Sad Lisa.

While not me, this mani has served me well. It is bumpy as hell...like a dog's ball. Normally, I would have started picking the stones off within 5 minutes, a day later and they're all intact.

You know what's funny? I got a side job from this mani! One of our local produce vendors at work has a daughter that's turning 10 this spring. He and his wife were going to host a make-up birthday party for her. He noticed my mani, sent some cell phone pics to his wife, and 10 minutes later she called the restaurant to ask if I would be interested in doing a nails birthday party! How cool is that?

Everything about this manicure is a surprise when put into the context of your taste. It is very well done. I know you don't get on well with rhinestones. You have a whole solar system of sparkly little planets on your nails. Sometimes it's fun to experiment with looks you wouldn't usually be drawn to create. <3
