BB Couture Stick Shift, Rub-On sticker art

Hi Kids!
Today, I'm bringing you something different...but first, I have a few questions.
Does anyone have any information on how nail stamping plates are made?
And- What type of outfit makes them? Machinist...something else?
Whose professional brain could I pick in regards to designing and the manufacturing of nail stamping plates?

Both my father and brother are Machinists. My father is Old School- does his drafting, measuring etc by his own 2 hands. His shop is filled with big clunky machinery that leaves Carbon, metal shavings, dirt and grime everywhere. And my brother- Modern Machinist- he plots everything into a computer. His shop (now closed) was cleaner than a hospital...everything was produced internally by very modern machines- from start to finish. He never had to "handle" an item.
Sadly, although talking to my brother would be the way to go, it is my last resort. We don't like each-other much and have a difficult time getting along.

While I have a decent collection of nail stamping plates, I am frustrated...I want more options. Larger, longer, bolder free-form images, stylized lines, shapes, curlicues...non-descriptive images that I can piece together.
*sigh*...not sure if I'm bringing it out right/making sense... here are some examples...
I'd like more hollow images that I can "color in", flowers with hollow centers, rings of dots in various sizes, rings of circles in various sizes, curving leaf branches, straight lines, zig-zags, curlicues/freeform in large, long size that's NOT part of a french tip. That's just for starters!
Asking for help here is a long-shot...looks like I'll have to psyche myself up to talk to my brother.

Soooo yah- here's what I have for you today...Rub-On stickers! I picked these up on clearance at Michaels. Although not specifically meant for nails, these crafting Rub-Ons are a creative alternative to *what is* available for nails. They're a bit tricky to use due to the fact that the images are meant to be applied to a flat surface, not to curved nails. I've used these crafting Rub-Ons several times and love them to pieces!

My daughter, Amber was all over this mani last night. I don't get to see her much these days, so I was a happy Mom when she asked for me to sit down with her so she could admire what she claims to be my best mani to date. Although I don't agree with her, I DO love it!
I finished this mani last night, and had to tweek the color in all the pictures. I waited until this morning to post so as to get some sun shots for color accuracy.
First 2 pictures taken in my light-box. Click to make 'em bigger!
I did not do a top-notch clean up, so please overlook.

Outside, shade and full sun...

BB Couture Stick Shift was a gift from Ange of Scandalously Polished. I went nutz over her swatch of it here. So awesome that she would remember that! Thank you Ange- I absolutely LOVE it!!!!!!!!! :*
She's definately a better Wicked Vixen than me...I promised her BleachBlack Dickweed ages ago and have yet to send it. Which brings me to something I need to bring out...
Whether it be gift or swap- if I say I'm going to send - you will get it. It's not a matter of IF, it's WHEN.
I do the work of 2 people at my job and have a household to run- busy beyond belief.
I am burned out. Broke down this morning and bawled my eyes out- exhausted, burned out, unhappy at my job. I'm at a point where I am wishing for sickness or getting hurt so I can get some time off. Pathetic. And I just got a call from the owner to come in early.

Anyway- back to nails!!!

stamped with Sally Hansen Gold Chrome
Craft Rub-On stickers from Michael's

A I can be of no help technically.
B Awesome mani. I marvel at your dexterity, creativity, patience and style. Extraordinary.
C Can't you say No to some of the people in your life? It's a serious question as in: Have you difficulties in asserting yourself or looking after yourself? Naturally it's a rhetorical question but it sounds as if you are going to HAVE TO let something go, disappoint someone, let someone down. I am probably completely out of order but...

Once again, your manicure is amazing, it never looks anything less than professional!

I think Jen below has said everything that was going on in my mind.
like can't you tell your boss that you NEED some time off. I feel like coming to your office and banging your boss' head on the wall. Or spraying chilli spray in his eyes. Or hiding a porcupine in his bed. You should do something like that if he doesn't stop acting like an insensitive idiot.

Hi Jen. You are not out of order. The problem *is* mine. I don't assert myself where it counts most.

1. I don't really know for sure, but have you thought of shooting an email to the person who runs bundlemonster? He makes his own plates, and I'm sure he could point you in the right direction. Or, you guys could even do a collaboration!! Like, you design em, he makes them, sells them as a part of like...a limited edition set. Looking at how his last set of plates flew off the shelves (because you know the nail fanatics of the world made him a mint) he might be up for that. And you guys could split the profits!

2. I love the mani!! It looks really retro...like a dress that was made in the...I want to say 70's. The color would look horrible on my, but looks fierce on you!

3. And I agree with everyone else. You just need to pluck up your courage and let him know that you can't be dealing with his fuckery anymore. Excuse my language. But if you don't say anything, then he's going to think that he can just keep on overworking you. I definitely feel your pain though....sometimes, when I'm at school, I think about stepping out in front of a bus. Not all the way though, because I don't want to die. Just like half of my body. Or my arm or leg so I can like...go to the hospital and get a break. But getting hurt is not the answer. Make sure that you talk to him soon! Your physical and mental health come first. Sending you e-hugs and positive energy!!

As usual, you've outdone us all! Amazing!

I would also love more stamping options. I'm 6 ft tall and have giant hands with nails to match. most of the images are just not wide enough for me. Or long enough for that matter. A design could easily be made in a large rectangle. You can control which parts of the rectangle you actually want to use.

All around best reply ever. Thank you so much!
Stepping out in front of a bus- just made me laugh...I know what you mean though.
I guess I'm looking for a no option situation. The wishing to be sick or hurt is NOT what I want. What I want is a situation where the option to saying "yes" would be impossible...because...because...I won't look "bad" and in turn I am still valuable. I think

This manicure is so cute and retro looking! I think it's the color choice that makes it perfect.

I'm not sure about your questions but gosh, I wish there were more options. I want more full plate designs and random cutesy things other than flowers (I want a FLAMINGO plate! and more nautical ones). I'm always browsing fauxnad plates hoping for something new.

This is really pretty, it reminds me of a bee. How are the stickers, do they stay on well? I used stickers once but they peeled off after a day.

this is soooooooooo cool! You picked the perfect base colour for this design.

I am hoping that Konad or the BM will come out ( ewwe? )with a plate for girls with longer nails...... I like the full nail image plates but hope thatthey create a full length image for those with alot of nail to cover.

You amaze me in that you put in alot of hours at your job, then have the creative spirit and enegery to do your nails. I hope things turn around for you, and slow down.

I recently ordered nailplates from Europe - I seen on their website, they manufacture plates. So I emailed them and asked if they will do-I'll email you their reply and you can consider it.

Love your nails as always!

I can never say which manicure is my favorite. Each one is more amazing than the other. Please don't wish for anything to happen to you. It's no fun having any kind of sickness or disability. Don't you get any vacation time? Just take some and be damned. Maybe if you take some time off you'll be appreciated more.
