"quickie" testing lightbox

Hi Kids!
I just spent the last couple of days making a lightbox. Go figure- Sun's out today, and I'm taking pictures in a box.
Anyway, this mani is a real "quickie, using Color Club, Wild At Heart as my base color, a nail decal, some contrasting color fauxnad stamping with a franken, and Milani, 3D Hi-Tech dots. I also tested Sally Hansen Insta-Dri topcoat on my pinky...what a fail. Totally smudged my stamp.

Looks like I need to work on getting better bulbs and changing my lighting placement. This is all new to me, so please forgive the less than ok pictures.

I have a camera tri-pod, but I can't seem to place that right, fit it all in the opening of the box and get my hand in there without resorting to gymnastics.

If all goes well tonight, I'll be photographing all the goodies I have for my massive Giveaway!!!

How long does it take you to make these kind of mani's?

Oh wow i think these pictures turned out really great! And i adore the background :)

And of course, the mani, I love it! Its so happy and springlike <3

PS. About the fauxnad leaves, I had such a hard time with it too! Maybe it works best on really flat nails, yours and mine are a bit curvy hah. But don't give up on it, because I know for sure that it would look so amazing on you!

Your manicure is gorgeous! I love the combination of metallic and holographic elements. The phrase 'psychedelic eggplant' came to mind.

Have a great time putting your giveaway together. So much fun!

Sheesh, I'm *still* not done with this thing! In trying to research what would work best for me, I am now cutting out the sides and top. I'm going for the difused option...tracing paper. But I can't just slap it on. I'm making frames for the tracing paper, and am looking at my (household diy) molding pile for "channels" that the frames can slide on.
This thing is gonna fly when I'm through with it!

Its name? It should be obvious...
Optimus Prime!

Thanks Thess! I sort of got side-tracked after applying the decals. I wasn't satisfied with the Konad Princess Yellow and got lost in frankening a better color.
My best guess is under an hour.

Thanks Miss!

I'm not anywhere near satisfied with these pictures. Your Blog and pictures have inspired me to improve.

My problem with that image is that the stamper doesn't get the whole pattern.

I spend all of last night gluing those pailettes on posterboard, the kitchen table, my socks and on my husbands left cheek.

I'm not complaining though. I was super excited to work on something crafty. It felt like I was in 8th grade again, doing a science fair project.

Thanks Andrea! I hope you're on your way to feeling better!

Fancy lightbox...hmmmm, well, the title to my Blog is glammed-up for a reason. I *always* glam things up! It is a sickness as real as nail polish collecting.

Thank you Miss!
A lightbox is a good substitute when ideal lighting is not available.

Thanks Diana!
This lightbox building and tweeking is taking up more time than I had planned. I may not get to photographing my Giveaway items for several more days.

I tried and failed at making a light box...so I said screw it and I still use the sun. I don't really like light box photos anyway, so I guess no loss here.

I can't wait to see what we get for your giveaway!
